I first made the thumbnails/planning sketches to get all of my ideas down. In the flags, the black represents unknown and how the teachers at Reagan help find our passions and also teach us about IB. It also represents strength, symbolizing how students are able to push through schoolwork and projects. I use white to represent unity which symbolizes how tight knit Reagan is and how the school is like a family. The blue represents wisdom and intelligence. |
Thumbnail 14 represents the obstacles the students have to face and over come, shown by the mountains. Thumbnail 15 represents how our school builds us up and prepares us. The bars were also inspired by the Milwaukee flag and represents the Milwaukee sun. Not only do the bars represent MPS, Reagan, and IB, but I also wanted them to show how Reagan is involved with the Milwaukee community. The bar in the middle is the largest because it represents unity and that is a large part of the school and MPS. The three colors in the main design of the flag are meant to represent MPS, Reagan, and IB.

After my critique, I decided to add a different color to make the flags stand out so I went with a bright green. The color green can represent energy, growth, and ambition, which symbolize the students at Reagan and how hard they work. I was also deciding where I would place each color on the mountains and the bars. The black is placed on the bottom since it draws one's attentions first, then up to the other colors. This represents how Reagan is our building blocks and build us up to be college ready. |
